7pm Davis Flower Arrangers
March 6 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm
The 2018-19 program year for The Davis Flower Arrangers begins on Wednesday,
September 5, 2018 and members may mark their calendars for Programs on all the
first Wednesdays through May 2019. Programs vary from demonstrations and lectures to
guided workshops where everybody makes something and all provide ideas about using
flowers in home decoration. At all demonstrations attendees have a chance to
take home floral arrangements created in the program.
On March 6, 2019, Mary Arakelian, this year’s winner of the Flower Arranger of the
Year award for a design used on the National Garden Council’s “Vision of Beauty
Calendar” will discuss the Joy of Creative Floral Design. A member of the Sacramento
Floral Design Guild and the Auburn Arrangers Guild, she was well received as a speaker
for Davis Flower Arrangers in past years.
Membership in Davis Flower Arrangers costs $40 per year and provides access to eight
programs and workshops and the celebration that will end the season in May.
Other activities of The Davis Flower Arrangers that all members are invited to join
include providing flower arrangements for the Mary L. Stephens Davis Library, working
together with the Davis Senior Center to provide May baskets to shut-in seniors, and
providing bouquets for the regional garden club luncheon. The club has also provided
bouquets for the Odd Fellows Bingo Fundraiser Games and the group sometimes
organizes bus tours to the Bouquets to Art Show at the de Young Museum in San
Francisco or other spots such as Filoli Gardens and Sunset Magazine’s new display
garden in Napa.
