How to Add Events Using the DCN Web Calendar
For participants who have a web calendar from DCN.
Non-profit and non-commercial groups already using the DCN web
calendar can participate in the Davis International Calendar by
directly flagging selected events from their individual calendars to be
automatically displayed in the aggregated calendar. If your group
is interested in participating in this project and getting a DCN
calendar, please contact ihouse@ucdavis.edu about eligibility.
- Step 1 – Activate the check-box to flag events for the Davis
International Calendar
Instructions on how to activate this flag can be found near the bottom of the "Edit Organization" form in your calendar's management interface. In the section titled "Organization-Specific Flags", input "Show on International Calendar" for "Flag One." Then click "Save" near the bottom.
IMPORTANT: You must use Flag One.
Your "Event Editor" form should now display a new check-box for "Flags" with one named "Show on International Calendar".
- Step 2 – Flag events that are appropriate for the Davis
International Calendar.
See Guidelines for appropriate events.
You can flag events as you create and add entries in your own calendar. To do this, reserve "Flag One" under "Organization Specific Flags" for events that you want to display in the Davis International Calendar.
To avoid duplication, only flag events directly organized by your group. Do not add third-party events. For events with more than one sponsors, the main sponsor can flag.
The Calendar Goals will help determine what events are appropriate for inclusion. Any non-commercial public events with an international and/or cultural theme are welcome.
Shortcut Tips:
If most of your events are appropriate for the aggregated
calendar, you may want to save it as the default. Here's how you do
that. While you're at the "Event Editor" form:
1) check the box for "Show on International Calendar"
2) check the box for "Save as default?" near the bottom
3) click "Save"
