On Saturday, July 23, International House (Davis) of Pancakes will offer a fund-raising breakfast.
“We are teased regularly about being part of IHOP,” said Elisabeth Sherwin, executive director. “So for one day only we decided to go with it and offer pancakes to the public as part of a summer fundraiser.”
International House Davis is an independent nonprofit open to students, members of the community, international visitors and basically anyone who has an interest in promoting world peace one friendship at a time. The president of the board of directors is former UC Davis Chief of Police Calvin Handy.
Tickets will be sold at the door, 10 College Park. There is plenty of street parking and a parking lot just north of the building at the corner of College Park and Russell Boulevard. The tickets are $10 each for all you can eat: pancakes, fruit, juice, coffee or tea. Children age 10 and under will eat for free. A voluntary exercise class will take place on the patio at 9 a.m.
International House Davis also is hosting a free-admission International Festival that will take place Oct. 1 at the Veterans’ Memorial Center featuring music, food, vendors, children’s games and lectures. Money raised at the pancake breakfast will be used to ensure that the International Festival will be the place to be on Oct. 1.
