I-House Annual Auction, Saturday, March 20, 2010
Members and friends of I-House are invited to our Annual Auction on March 20 for an evening of good food, good fellowship and some wonderful bargains from select pieces of art to vacation get-aways.
"This is an important fundraiser for I-House," said Elisabeth Sherwin, executive director. "But it also is an evening for the I-House extended family to join together for a party."
At least three artists are donating work to the live auction -- photographer Ray Borton, printmaker Jeffrey Granett and collage specialist Hannah Hunter. The group Connections may donate a quilt or two and weaver Verena Borton has donated a rich blanket in deep pinks and blues. There will be no silent auction.
But auctioneers Maynard Skinner and IHD President Sean Duggan will keep the live auction moving at breakneck speed -- so bring your wallet and checkbook (no credit cards will be accepted).
Liz Young of the Tea List in Davis, who also is one-half of the I-House caretaking crew, will have several delicious casseroles for the buffet dinner in the Lounge (along with rolls and butter from Sodexo, fresh salad from the Co-op and desserts from our faithful and talented docents) preceding the auction.
"Last year we raised about $6,000," said Sherwin. "We would dearly love to raise that much and more this year to continue our programs and language classes, potlucks and presentations."
Tickets are $25 at the door or $20 in advance before March 15. Come to I-House for your virtual ticket. Our hours are 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday and of course we remain open during the lunch hour.
