Join I-House for a Carnitas Lunch On Picnic Day! Saturday, 4/17/2010
International House will host a carnitas lunch fundraiser on Picnic Day -- April 17 -- from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. at I-House in the Community Room and on the Mrak Terrace. Lunch plates consisting of carnitas (pork meat), rice, beans, salad, salsa, and a drink will be served for $10 per person. All tickets will be sold at the door.
Office Manager Deborah Zavala and English instructor Derek Chan, co-chairs of the fundraiser, plan to serve more than 150 people and raise approximately $1,500 to fund programs and services offered by I-House.
"We will create a festive environment with traditional Mexican food and
music," said Deborah, "After walking around campus and seeing the
parade, be sure to drop by I-House to rest your feet, greet your
friends, and enjoy a delicious meal."
Volunteers are still needed to help on the day of the event. Email
