An introduction to International House programs and activities-
CONNECTIONS
International and American women meet weekly to socialize, share their
joys, and help each other with their problems.
FRIENDSHIP PROGRAM
Local families invite students and scholars to share in their social
and family functions.
LANGUAGE CLASSES
Various language classes, including English, are held at the I-House.
There are no fees, though participants must be members of I-House. See

listing.
CLUB INTERNATIONAL
Club International is a group of international and American
students that plan activities throughout the year, including trips
around California, cultural dinners, and parties. Over 75 students are
currently participating at various times. To join, sign up for free at

ANNUAL
CONFERENCES
Conference - Each year in the spring, an all-day program focuses on a
particular country or world region. In recent years, I-House has
featured the Horn of Africa (2004), the Caribbean (2005), China (2006)
and Brazil (2007). The 2008 program will feature Egypt.
- International dinners - Authentic food from a particular country is featured, prepared by visitors from that country.
- Holiday Celebrations - include holidays like Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, Mardi Gras.
ART EXHIBITS
Cultural Exhibits and Displays - Art work with an international theme, or by international artists, is displayed each month.
FILM SERIES
Foreign films shown on a regular basis the first and third Friday
nights of each month.
CHILDREN'S PROGRAMS
- Children's Story-telling - This new program started on September 25, 2005 and will be held monthly at the I-House. Each performance will feature performers from local and international origin. The program is financially supported by new family memberships to I-House, non-member donations at the door and the generous sponsorships of several of our local businesses -- The Avid Reader Bookstore for Young Readers, Aesop's Room, A Better Place to Bead, Just Kidding, Alphabet Moon and Ben and Jerry's.
