Storytelling: Vicki Crescitelli - Multi-Cultural Tales, Sunday Sept. 21, 2008
2:00-3:00 p.m., Local storyteller, Vicki Crescitelli returns to I-House to present another lively program of stories from around the world.
Vicki will be the opening performer for the next season of the
Children's International Storytelling Program that resumes in
September. A former writer and director of children's theater and
instructor of creative dramatics, Vicki has been telling stories to
public audiences for over 8 years. She is known for her lively and
spirited style and believes that children need to be active
participants in storytelling.
Vicki Crescitelli will tell a Native American tale by Joe Hayes about a frog who outwitted a bear in a contest to determine who could determine the pattern of light and dark in our days and nights, a Brazilian tale of a clever turtle that danced his way out of becoming turtle soup and a British story about a great smelly, slobbery small toothed dog that rescued a rich man from robbers. Involving the children in the stories is important, according to Crescitelli and she promises to have children clapping, singing and laughing throughout the performance
