Storytelling: Dave Nachmanoff - Songwriting by and for Kids, Sunday December 7, 2008
2:00 - 3:00 p.m., Dave Nachmanoff will be doing a mix of songs and songwriting by, for and with children. He will play some songs written by children in workshops he has led around the world. Children in the audience will also help Dave write a song on the day of the performance.
Dave is a singer, song-writer and multi-instrumentalist who resides in
Davis with his family. He is a songwriter in styles ranging from folk
to pop who has performed in many venues and has sold over 15,000
recordings. He has led songwriting workshops for German school
children, synagogue groups, a Native American tribe, stroke survivors,
and for the Silcocks, a family with 44 adopted boys. He’s got eight
albums in all, including his first, Candy Shower, released in 1997. He
writes custom songs for weddings and other occasions.
In addition to Dave's work as a performing songwriter, he is a session musician, doing studio work for others, and appears as a side player (guitar, piano, bass, accordion and more), primarily for Al Stewart on a regular basis.
