2:00 - 3:00 p.m. Bay Area storyteller Kirk Waller is the opening performer for the new season of the I-House Children's International Storytelling Program that commences on September 20. Kirk has been entertaining and mesmerizing audiences for years with his electrifying, musical and magical storytelling style.
Storytelling: Acme Theatre and UNICEF Awareness, Sunday, October 18, 2009
2:00 - 3:00 p.m., Members of the Acme Theatre Company, an independent, self-sustaining community theatre group for young artists of high school age, will transport the audience to ancient Asia. Using music, puppets and theatre the actors will bring two folktales to life. The presentations are adapted by Hannah May, Jeremy Reinhard, and Heidi Volker
Storytelling: Cara Patton - "Culture Through Bread" , Sunday, November 15, 2009
2:00 - 3:00 p.m., The I-House Children's Storytelling Program welcomes back former program intern, Cara Patton, this time as a performer! In a program entitled "Culture Through Bread" Cara will introduce the children to culture and what it means through different interactive activities.
Storytelling: Mary Lou Linvill (Puppeteer), Sunday, January 10, 2010
2:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m., Mary Lou Linvill of the PennyRoyal Puppet Theatre returns to the Storytelling Program to present the Persian folktale, "The Fox". It will be performed in a walk-around theater.
Storytelling: UCD Malaysian Students Association - "Shadow Play Puppets", Sunday, February 7, 2010
2:00 to 3:00 p.m., The students will showcase Malaysian arts and culture with a puppet performance called 'shadow play' ("wayang kulit" in Malay). This traditional art form can be found in Malaysia, Indonesia and parts of Thailand.
Storytelling: Lou Ziskind from Explorit Science Center - Stories and science, Sunday, March 14, 2010
2:00 - 3:00 p.m., Lou Ziskind, Executive Director of the Davis Explorit Science Center comes to I-House to entertain the audience with stories. The program will include a reading of the book "Stellaluna".
Storytelling: Nature's Theater, Sunday, April 18, 2010
2:00 - 3:00 p.m. Nature's Theater presents "Animal Circle Club" with Jeff Falyn and Lyndsay Dawkins. The performance is a walking adventure. The children will be the real stars of the show, as they engage in interactive games and activities on the walking story.
Storytelling: John Boe - Stories and music, Sunday, May 16, 2010
2:00 - 3:00 p.m. Professional storyteller and UC Davis Lecturer in English, John Boe, will tell stories and play the kalimba.
