Adrian Elisa Para was born in Quibido, Choco, Columbia, within the
rainforest.
Her master's degree was in Latin American Social and Economic
Development. She finished another master's degree at UC Davis in
community Development and is currently pursuing her doctoral degree at
UC Davis in Geography. She has co-founded and directed NGOs
focusing on social problems in Columbia , education and family
issues. Her talk at I-House is about her people of African
descent living on the Pacific Coast of Columbia in the Choco, their
displacement and and how volunteers are mounting a movement to
help.“
