Docents Present Lecture: "A Visit with Humphrey Scholar Dr. Mohammed El Belkacemi of Morocco" - Mon., December 3, 2008
12:00 p.m., Community Room. Mohammed El Belkacemi will discuss his native Morocco and share some of his recent experiences as a Humphrey Fellow. He is in Davis to research and study in his field which addresses food safety, particularly within the substantial fishing industry of Morocco.
El-Belkacemi was born in Rabat in 1962. He first received a degree in
Agricultural Engineering and was accepted at the prestigious University
of Lincoln in the UK where he obtained a Ph.D in Food Safety. He was
with the Ministry of Fisheries, a national officer in an FAO project
dealing with postharvest assessments in fisheries, and has traveled
extensively lecturing on such issues. While in Northern California he
will concentrate on all aspects of biological, physiological and
toxicological post harvest losses. We guarantee that you will find Dr.
