Friendship Program

Up one level

This program links international visitors, students and scholars with local hosts to share customs, improve their English skills, and add a personal dimension to their experience of studying or working in Northern California. Local hosts may invite their international visitors for occasional meals, bike rides, walks, sports events, farmers markets, movies, trips, holiday celebrations and outings. Applications are available at International House, 10 College Park. All participants are volunteers.

Friendship Program
Local families invite students and scholars to share in their social and family functions. We are CURRENTLY IN SEARCH of local families who would like to meet an international student or scholar for an occasional outing, coffee, dinner or a movie. The reward is the pleasure of making new friends, learning about other cultures, or even brushing up on a foreign language. It is a wonderful program that requires very little time commitment, and yet has a huge potential for making new, and perhaps, life-long friendships (read more).
