Film and Comedy Festival on Friday, Oct. 23 at 7:30 p.m.
Program will take place in the Community Room at I-House, and will offer three or four short films and a stand-up comedy spot -- all about current events. This will be an evening of fun and laughter! Free Admission.
Nada Brahma Music Ensemble - Saturday March 13 at 7 pm
Please join us at this cultural evening: hear the mystical sounds of ancient music from India, enjoy snacks and drinks, and help to give 160 underprivileged children in India a quality elementary education.
Concert of Traditional Japanese Music in Memory of I-House founder Shunta Yamamoto (5/23 3-5 p.m.)
Free and open to the public, a traditional Japanese music concert will take place at I-House on Sunday, May 23, 3-5 p.m. presented by several musicians who have given concerts at I-House in years past, most recently in 2007. The musicians will include Naoko playing the koto and shamisen, Kyokuto Kimura playing the biwa and Philip Gelb playing the shakuhachi.
Picasso Street Trio performs Beethoven's Serenade in D major opus 25, June 3 the Picasso Street Trio
The beautifully performed Serenade in D major opus 25 composed by Ludwig van Beethoven was much appreciated by the audience.
World Cup 2010 may be watched at I-House
You're welcome to come and watch any World Cup game during office hours when the I-House lounge has not been scheduled for other activities. Summer office hours are weekdays 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Click on link for details, including TV schedule. Thanks to I-House Office Manager, Deborah Zavala, for arranging this activity.
International Poetry Night at I-House on July 17
Poets are welcome to sign up in advance by contacting I-House volunteer Jennifer Hsieh. Come join us for a fun and culturally diverse night of poetry! This event is open to the public and refreshments will be provided.
