He came to the United States in 1963 and since 1967 he has served as professor of Social Work, Community Development and Peace Studies at Fresno State. Dr. Sudipta Sen is Professor of History at the University of California, Davis. A scholar of India and the British Empire, his work has focused on the early colonial history of British India.

These three esteemed professors will speak about the ways in which Gandhian thought and philosophy relate to modern race relations, the current immigration and refugee crisis, and environmentalism and sustainable coexistence.
