Vanderhoef International Lecture Series

In 2009, to honor the retiring UC Davis Chancellor Larry Vanderhoef, International House Davis established the Vanderhoef International Lecture Series as an annual reception and talk on international topics, especially those pertaining to education.

The first lecture took place in November of 2009 when Vanderhoef described some of the many international/education connections he made during his years in office.

The second Vanderhoef Lecture took place in  March  2011 when Former Davis Mayor Ruth Asmundson described coming to Davis as an international student.

The third Vanderhoef Lecture took place in May 2012 when UC Davis Chancellor Linda Katehi described her life as an international student at UCLA.

At the fourth Vanderhoef Lecture in March 2013 Davis Mayor Joe Krovoza spoke about  “Davis’ Sister Cities: Sangju, Korea; Wuxi, China; Inuyama, Japan; Uman, Ukraine; Rutillio Grande, El Salvador; Los Banos and Munos, Phillipines with Sister City Ambassador Ruth Asmundson.
