Gelatin (Mexico)

Ingredients

1 can evaporated milk

4 Envelopes Knox unflavored gelatine

1 can sliced peaches (optional) or any fruit

2 teaspoon vanilla extract

2 cups sugar

2 cups cold water

 

Preparation

1. Mix 1 can of evaporated milk with 1 cup of cold water. Heated to boiling.

2. Sprinkle gelatin over remaining cold water in large bowl. Let it stand for one minute then add hot milk until gelatin is complete.  Dissolves about 5 minutes, stir sugar and sliced peach or optional fruit.

3. Refrigerate until firm, about 3 to 5 hours

4. To serve, cut 1-inch squares.
