Facility Rental Information

Looking for a beautiful event venue or a comfortable meeting space? International House Davis hosts numerous international and local events and activities.

It is first and foremost a place of hospitality for international visitors but many local events including panels on foreign affairs and current events are held there.

The community is invited to reserve the facility. Please see our facility rates and fees below.

Rent I-House for your event

I-House is ideally located in a historic Davis home, on a main boulevard across from University of California, Davis, and within walking distance to downtown Davis. It is situated on the I-80 corridor about 70 miles northeast of San Francisco and 15 miles west of Sacramento. Amtrak trains from both cities stop in Davis, and the Sacramento International Airport is only 20 miles away. Transportation from the airport is available by bus, shuttle, or taxi. See map.

The helpful I-House staff can assist in meeting the rental needs of many groups for a variety of events.  A variety of items and equipment are available for rent and I-House will attempt to accommodate any special equipment or furniture needs.

International House Davis is wheelchair-accessible and parking is available in the I-House parking lot. Additional parking is available for a small fee on the UCD campus (the nearest parking structure is a few minutes on foot on Howard Way which is across Russell Boulevard from I-House), and on College Park after 5 p.m. on weekdays and all day Saturdays, Sundays and holidays. Temporary street permits are also available in the office.

Making a Reservation

To make a reservation please contact us at 530-753-5007. You may also make a reservation by filling out the following information below in this form. You may send the form either electronically to rentals@ihousedavis.org or drop it off at the front desk.

  • Date(s) Requested
  • Reservation start time and end time – This includes any time you need for set up and take down.
  • Event start and end time 
  • Type of event – e.g., wedding, birthday, performance, meeting, conference.
  • Format – e.g., dinner/lunch reception, lecture/presentation.
  • Number of people attending – several different rooms are available, knowing the number of people helps us find what rooms will work for your event.

Additional Services Information*




Set Up

Setting up of tables and chairs prior to reservation start time. 1 hour minimum.


Take Down

Take down of tables and chairs after reservation end time. 1 hour minimum. Does not include cleaning. Renters are responsible for cleaning after their event.


Cleaning Fee

Fee for failure to adequately clean or required fee for an attendance of over 100.

AV Equipment 1st System

Available systems include: Projector system (screen, projector) and basic sound system (2 speakers, 1 wireless mic, sound board) $33 flat
AV Equipment 2nd System

$11 flat

*Access to your room begins at the time you listed on your contract; if you need earlier access for things like setting up, please remember to include the time as part of your rental contract. Renters are responsible for clean up of the facility, even if the take down service is requested. Failure to do so will incur a $100 minimum charge for needed clean up service.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs):

What does the reservation process look like?

  • Interested renters must fill out a reservation form and e-mail it to rentals@ihousedavis.org. Once we receive the completed form, we will put a soft hold for your requested time/date. To put a firm hold on your reservation, you will need to sign a facility rental agreement and pay the reservation deposit. Other required payments include the security deposit and the remaining balance. On the day before your reservation, you will receive a welcome letter which will provide a summary of your reservation details, parking instructions, and other important information to keep in mind during your event.

What does your payment schedule look like?

  • Payment can be made at any time once the reservation form has been submitted and are due no later than the last business day prior to your event. Please note, certain payments/deposits may be non-refundable pending on the proximity of your event date. The last day to receive a refund on any payment/deposit (apart from the security deposit) is 30 days in advance.

What is a reservation deposit? How much is it? Is it refundable?

  • Your reservation deposit will be half of your total estimated balance. A reservation deposit guarantees your hold for your specific reservation in the requested room and dates. The reservation deposit is non-refundable 60 days prior to the event.

Will I have to pay the total balance on top of the reservation deposit?

  • No – your reservation deposit goes towards the payment of your total balance. The security deposit, however, is separate from your total reservation balance.

What is a security deposit? How much is it? Is it refundable?

  • A security deposit is made to cover any potential damages or overage during your event. The security deposit is $125. If the rented facilities are maintained and clean upon the departure of the renter, a full security deposit refund will be provided 1-2 weeks after your event.

Are the rates above hourly?

  • Facility rentals and services such as set up and take down are hourly. Renting AV equipment is a flat rate per room.

Are the above the only configurations you provide?

  • These configurations are frequent setups for events. However, we do not restrict setups to these configurations. We would love to help configure a setup that works with your specific event!

What is the maximum capacity for a room?

  • The rental capacities provided above are rough numbers based on previous events. Capacities are subject to change pending on your setup. If you have additional questions, please email rentals@ihousedavis.org.

Are tables and chairs included in the rental cost?

  • Yes! Tables and chairs will be made available and a staff person can show you their location. If you requested a setup/takedown service, the tables and chairs will be setup/taken down before and after your reservation time.
